Officers

Scott Koppelman, sck@steelkoils.com, is the CEO of Steel Koils; which has offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. Scott takes a hands-on approach to business, and is involved in all of the day-to-day operations of Steel Koils. The steel business is a family business for Scott, and some say that he was born with steel in his blood. His father was in the business for nearly 40 years, and Scott began working in his Uncle’s steel warehouse when he was still in high school. He went on to graduate from Ohio State University with a degree in Business Administration, and came back to work in the industry.

Scott’s years of experience allow Steel Koils to offer seamless communication and customer service. His history has taught him that it is not enough to simply sell a product, but to assure every aspect of the business is the best. Scott’s goal with each and every customer and supplier is to build long term relationships.


Dean Swantek, dean@steelkoils.com, is the COO of Steel Koils, he has been in the steel industry for 33 years, starting his career at a service center in Detroit, MI followed by service centers in Toledo, OH & Cleveland, OH before settling in Pittsburgh, PA, the true home of steel.

In 2001 after paying his dues and being trained by some of the leaders in this industry he started his own company. Developing many strong relationships with both suppliers & customers he found a niche in the Hot Dipped Galvanized market and was one of the pioneers to sell steel over the internet & his own website. He has associated himself with other steel veterans to better service the central and southern markets in the United States and Mexico.

Dean is responsible for all the daily operations of Steel Koils; he also handles purchasing from various mills and service centers.


Don Dolwick, don@steelkoils.co,don@steelkoils.com is the CFO of Steel Koils and has been since Steel Koils opened its doors in May of 2003, he manages all the financial affairs of Steel Koils. Don has 20 years experience working with firms such as Cooper & Lybrand, PricewaterhouseCoopers & IBM Global Services. Areas of expertise include finance, accounting, business process & IT systems.

Sales Staff

Jeff Frazer, jeff@steelkoils.com, started in the steel industry in 2002, although that may seem like a short time, (6 years) in steel years it’s a lifetime, especially going thru the worst & best markets we have ever seen. Jeff has weathered it like a true veteran and in the process has earned the respect of steel veterans and is known as the go to guy if your looking for Hot Dipped Galvanized. Jeff handles day to day selling to Steel Koils steel service center & steel distributor customers.

Al Rose, al@steelkoils.com brings 36 years of experience in flat rolled products. Al started in the Cleveland, OH area selling blanks & slit to size material in Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled & Coated products from CQ to HSLA grades.

Ken Simon, ken@steelkoils.com, brings 30 years of experience in flat rolled products to Steel Koils. Ken started his steel career in Cleveland, OH selling flattened cobble and has served as sales manager for service centers in Cleveland, Chicago, and Southern California. Ken has an extensive knowledge of Hot Rolled and Hot Dipped Galvanized products from CQ to HSLA grades.
